There is no doubt that the surge in popularity in Yin Yoga and other forms of restorative wellness practices is a reflection of this inherent desire to find sanctuaries and opportunities to reconnect and restore on a deeper level.
Yin Yoga is unique in the way it shifts attention to the subtle, energetic layers that we can’t necessarily see with the human eye. It is a slower, more subtle, more meditative and introspective style of yoga. This change of pace allows us to tune in and access our thoughts and feelings as we work with deeper layers within our physical and emotional body.
This isn’t your average Yin Yoga Training.
Our Vikasa 100hr Yin Teacher Training is our unique take on the practice of Yin Yoga. The training will adhere to the fundamentals of traditional Yin Yoga, whilst also introducing some additional practices and elements to the journey.
The course shifts the key focus from a Chinese Medicine perspective, to a wider holistic focus, based on balancing and regulating the nervous system as a whole. Over the course of 12 days you will learn seven specific Vikasa Yin practices that you will experience as a student, and also learn how to confidently teach as a Yin practitioner. These classes will be yours to take away with you, to support you as an individual and as a teacher.
Each Vikasa Yin Class will include:
Theme- a specific theme to create intention and focused awareness
Asana- the specific yin poses guided through an intelligently-informed sequence
Music- new Vikasa Yin soundtracks to suit each theme and encourage inner reflection
Meditation and Pranayama - to balance, soothe, focus and refresh in body and mind. d
In addition to the specific Yin classes, Niki and Rama bring their own magic, experience, passion and personality to this training. You will experience modalities such as shaking, sound healing, blindfolded classes, Yoga Nidra, partner yoga activities plus plenty of meditation and pranayama which is not always experienced in the realm of Yin Yoga.
With life being an eternal quest for balance, our Vikasa Yin training also introduces elements of Yang to explore these different polarities and find a sense of equilibrium. Morning classes will have a slightly more yang approach, whilst still remaining gentle and accessible. They will help to cultivate and stoke an inner fire that will serve as a welcome counterbalance to the Yin practices.
Each day will also include two workshops, one based on Yin Theory, and the other being practical, where the Yin sequences will be unpacked and workshopped to offer a deep dive into assists and adjusts, transitions, contraindications and modifications. Lectures and workshops will be led by Niki and Rama and will include demonstrations, partner work, practice teaching and group discussions. Each day will close with a full length Yin class so you get the chance to experience the subtle yet powerful transformations in your own body.
